as well as consulting with Mary Martin and James Evans about their collection of Cornish apple and cherry trees near Calstock. We have also recently alerted the developers of Duporth Holiday Village, St Austell, to a number of historic garden features still in existence in the grounds of what was Charles Rashleigh’s house, Duporth Manor. We are always keen to welcome new members to the group, with or without previous experience. You could be involved in research at the records office, walking a garden and taking note of its plants, or helping record the details of its hard landscaping. We're also on the look out for photographers, especially if you have some architectural knowledge. If you join the team of recorders, you can: • learn new skills • meet new people with similar interests • enjoy the satisfaction of finding information on parks and gardens • share the research by making it available to the wider public • attend study days and visits that will allow you to gain insight into the development of parks and gardens To find out more, email Trish Gibson: trish.gibson@btopenworld.com or phone 01208 880308 |
