Events

The Trust arranges an annual programme of visits to a wide variety of gardens, from historic country estates to newly created or developing gardens.

We are fortunate in often being able to arrange visits to a number of gardens not normally open to the public. Wherever possible, we encourage the owners of these gardens to lead the tour and give their own personal commentary and insight into the creation and maintenance of the gardens.

Each year, our autumn Newsletter gives an outline of the forthcoming programme, and then full details of the times and charges together with a booking form are sent to members the following January, so that they can plan which visits they wish to attend.

For 2011, our programme included visits to Chyverton House, Botallick near Looe, Ethy House, Lanwithick, the Mill House at Pendoggett, Poppy Cottage, Treviades Barton near Constantine, the Potager garden, Woodland Cottage near St Austell, the Sculpture Garden, and Kennall House garden.  Details about the forthcoming visits can be seen by following the links on this page, and full details and booking forms will be sent out with the January Newsletter.

The Trust also organises occasional talks, given by speakers well known in their particular field. These talks can cover virtually any aspect of gardens or historic landscapes. Social events such as festive lunches and dinners are also arranged for members and their guests to enjoy.

Please note that many of these visits are strictly limited in terms of numbers – so it is essential to book ahead!  Contact details for information about the visits will be included with the booking form.
